What to Expect as a Reviewer
We are looking for individuals with diverse areas of expertise to serve as peer reviewers. The application asks about your position and organizational affiliation, areas of special interest or expertise, and experience as a reviewer (e.g., of publications, grant proposals, conference abstracts etc).
When possible, reviewers are assigned manuscripts that align with their self-identified expertise and areas of special interest. Each manuscript is assigned to five reviewers. When a particular manuscript is determined to be a good match with particular reviewers, the reviewers will receive an email from the Editor requesting their participation in the manuscript?s review. The manuscript abstract, provided by the author(s) as part of the manuscript submission, will be included in this email. The reviewers are required to read the abstract and decide whether they are able to review the manuscript. They will then accept or decline the invitation. If reviewers accept the invitation to review a manuscript, they will be sent instructions by email on how to access the manuscript, instruction to authors, and a review form. Reviewers will be asked to complete their reviews within one week of accepting a review. Reviewers who anticipate that they will need additional time may communicate directly with the Associate Editor.
In most cases, once the review is submitted online, the reviewer?s task is complete. In situations where reviewers? recommendations for acceptance of the manuscript for publication are quite contrasting, they may be contacted by the Editor or Associate Editor for any clarifications that may be needed.
Time Commitment
The editorial team will attempt to spread review assignments across available reviewers and not overburden particular reviewers. Reviewers can expect up to five review requests or even lesser per year. Each review requires a careful scrutiny, proofing-reading or meticulous viewing of the manuscript, and completing the review form.
The Standard Global Journals (SGJ) recognizes the value and importance of the peer review process in the overall publication process ? not only in shaping the individual manuscript, but also in shaping the credibility and reputation of the journal. SGJ is committed to the timely publication of all credible scientifically based manuscripts submitted for publication. As such, the identification and selection of reviewers who have expertise and interest in the topics appropriate to each manuscript are essential elements in ensuring a specialized and timely manuscript peer review process.
If you have a competently experienced colleague who may enjoy serving on our Editorial Review Board, please feel free to kindly forward our Web site address (https://standardglobaljournals.com/) to him or her. Reviewers are charged with providing feedback to editors about the merits of submitted articles in terms of quality and contribution to the field as well as write reviews in a timely, collegial, and constructive manner. Sustaining SGJ as a scientific journal of the highest quality depends on reviewers with a high level of expertise and an ability to be objective, fair, and insightful in their evaluation of manuscripts.
This is why applicants must have a doctorate (or an equivalent degree), and significant publishing and reviewing experience.
Indeed, at SGJ, we recognized that being an editor, sub-editor or reviewer would give abundant opportunities to widen one?s network to stand on the frontline of novel, cutting-edge discoveries, and to hone the insight in discriminating the best from the ordinary for publication. The intellectual and interpersonal benefits gained from all these activities seem to be excellent for preparing one to be an independent investigator who wants to build up his research team.
For such scholars who feel obliged to contribute to the world of knowledge, SGJ is eagerly looking forward to receiving your CVs or resumes. Kind regards!
